Lucy has a garden filled with beautiful rainbow birds. She also has a tabby cat called Artemis, and one day . . .

POUNCE!

Lucy needs to stop Artemis catching the birds, but how? Will Artemis and the birds ever live together in peace?

Personal:

I drew the cat with a still face while blurring the movement of the body...(soft pastel is good for that.) I wanted to exaggerate the body language because it was important to show Artemis’s  different moods. He can be fierce and wild one moment and gentle and docile the next. Artemis never actually surrenders...

I smudged the soft pastels to give the birds a sense of movement.

Pastel colours are very vibrant, perfect for noisy, rainbow birds.I experimented with the idea of humour in the encounters between birds and cat, something that Anthony Hill had already implied in the text.
